RTP (return to player)

RTP, or return to player, is the percentage of all money wagered on a game that it is designed to pay back to players over the long run.

An RTP of 96% means that, across a very large number of bets, players receive 96 for every 100 staked on average. It is a theoretical long-run figure; short sessions vary widely. RTP equals 100% minus the house edge.

RTP applies to games where players bet against the house or a pool. Vinco's games range from 95% (Plunder Crash, Vault) and 96% (Diver, Neon Rush) to 97.5% for the pari-mutuel Plunder. Player-versus-player games such as Three Chances use a rake instead of an RTP.

Operators use RTP to compare titles and meet market rules, and players use it to understand how generous a game is. A higher RTP means a lower house edge.

Example

A game with a 97.5% RTP is expected to return 975 for every 1,000 wagered over time.

What is the RTP of a crash game?

Questions such as "Aviator RTP" or "what is the RTP of this crash game?" have the same answer: every crash game has its own RTP, set by its design, so the figure to go by is the one the game's provider publishes for that title. There is no single RTP for crash games.

In a crash game the RTP is built into the game itself. Vault's 95% RTP, for example, comes from a flat 5% house edge built into its multiplier formula. Vinco publishes the RTP on every game page: Diver and Neon Rush 96%, Plunder Crash and Vault 95%. More on crash games.
